In the rush to market, there are often claims that projects or materials are ‘green’ and the question really is ‘are they’ in fact as green as they seem.
Container reuse and repurposing, especially for containers that have served at sea for several trips and are not a single use passage items, do significantly and tangibly have a claim to be a ‘green alternative’. Some of the key considerations in container reuse are –
The initial exploration was to provide accommodation on a Highveld farm, but the project is being revived now as a real option for climate mobility.

Containers represent a “new caravan and mobile domain” able to be transported to new sites with little or no damage to the main body of the home.  This contributes to less embodied carbon in the structure, a measure of the green quality and sustainable opportunities in an evolving climate scenario.

But another real benefit experienced by the Clients is the nestled sense of the workshop environment felt by all who attend events there.  This experience is felt intuitively by participants, rather than intellectually – it offers a settled emotional environment for people to feel ‘grounded’.
